Once an Acknowledgement is generated, what is the time frame for receiving a response?
Claims are adjudicated in real time. For those requiring additional assessment, they may be adjudicated within 2 business days. Please see the payment questions below for reimbursement information.
Does the insurer accept a predetermination request submitted electronically?
Yes, predetermination requests submitted electronically are accepted.
Payment: How will payment be handled for claims submitted using eClaims? Would it be possible to set up a direct deposit option for payments?
Yes. You can sign up for EFT of payments by entering your banking information in the My Account section of the TELUS Provider Portal.
Once claims have been adjudicated, EFT payments will be made within one business day.
Coordination of benefits: Is coordination of benefits possible in cases where the patient has both primary and secondary coverage with the same insurer?
Coordination of Benefits with the same provider is not supported at this time.
Can claims for the same service be submitted twice in the same day (e.g. for the same service on two different body parts, or for the same service provided in the morning and in the evening of the same day)?
Only one treatment per day can be claimed for the same procedure code.
