COVID-19 update: how TELUS Health Benefits Management is responding.

To our valued clients & partners.

Canadians and our healthcare system are facing unprecedented and challenging times. Keeping insurers, plan sponsors, plan members and their providers, and pharmacists connected while protecting everyone’s health and well-being is more crucial than ever. We want to assure you that now and always, the health and safety of our team members, our clients and the communities where we live, work and serve across Canada, are the top priority for us. As the COVID-19 situation evolves, we will keep you informed on how we are responding safely and responsibly to meet your needs.

Here’s how we’re supporting you.

Pandemic plan – We are monitoring our networks and systems closely and have a robust emergency response and pandemic plan in place to mitigate disruptions and manage the demand for increased capacity.

EMOC activated – Our Emergency Management Operating Committee (EMOC) was activated. The committee meets regularly to review the latest developments on the outbreak, put plans into action, and address the questions and concerns we receive from our clients.

Potential drug shortages: We continue to follow www.drugshortages.ca and automatically update the drug availability list to ensure minimal disruption at the pharmacy counter for plan members.  In addition, proactive communication with generic manufacturers, ensures TELUS Health is staying on top of product supply and supply chain issues identified by generic manufacturers. We support provincial measures that avoid stockpiling and unnecessary hoarding of medication.

Putting customers first.

Thank you for your continued support as we work through these challenges together. As mentioned above, we are monitoring the situation closely, including macro-economic factors such as supply chain issues that could disrupt drug supply, and updates from regulatory bodies both at the provincial and federal levels, including CHLIA. You have our commitment that we will continue to share up-to-date information in a timely manner as decisions are put in place as necessary.
